This is an unprecedented time in our country. As individuals and companies adapt to the coronavirus, so too does the job hiring process. Companies are still hiring, but the interview process has changed. The hiring process has gone virtual. From school districts to hospitals to businesses large and small, interviews are being conducted by phone and video (Skype, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex).If you are creative, flexible, and patient, you will succeed. Be mindful that hiring is constantly shifting and the timelines are changing. Stay positive and motivated in your job search.

Resume Tips 

  1. Take your virtual interviews seriously! 

  2. Make sure you are still dressed professional

  3. Download the virtual app a day before your interview to make sure you’ve worked out all kinks PRIOR to your scheduled interview time

  4. Interview in a quiet well lit area with a simple backdrop. 

  5. Turn your phone on silent

  6. Be confident!

  1. Make sure your resume is job specific, don’t apply to a HR position only highlighting your sales experience. Make sure your transferable skills are conveyed

  2. Make sure your contact information is correct and up to date! 

  3. Please have a professional email address established ( and should’ve been left behind a long time ago)

  4. It’s ok to examine the job description for the position you’re applying for and pull key words and experiences to update your resume with.

  5. Make sure your experience is something you’ve actually done, all truths eventually come to the light. 

  6. Be confident!
